Children’s Library
Who We Are
The children’s community library exists to help children, youth, and families thrive in downtown Montreal. We do this by promoting literature, by helping children improve their french-speaking skills, and through various activities (art, knitting, yoga, toddler gym, board games, summer day camps, etc) that aim to increase children’s self-esteem and help them build strong relationships with members of the community. While our programs center around the needs of toddlers, children and parents, anyone is welcome to join our library as a member or volunteer!
The children’s library team is continually in search of practical ways for our environment to become a vehicle for holistic care for families in the Peter-McGill neighborhood. We strive to do this through various programs for children and families experiencing different life stages. We are also responding to the community’s call to create more opportunities for french learning. For example, we host a francisation program during the school year. We also animate a day camp in the summer with an emphasis on practicing French through play. Finally, we aim to partner with other community organizations, educational representatives and policy makers to advocate for the needs of Peter-McGill residents.
Our hope is that whether you come to browse our book collection, borrow board games or attend a creative writing workshop, you would feel welcomed and inspired to make the Innovation Youth’s children library a part of your family and community life.

Our needs are for volunteers to come during our library hours to catalog and shelve books. Our volunteers also assist children during special events or the francisation program. We thank you in advance for reaching out!
